About Business Philosophy The Way Forward

We commenced operations in 2012 with the delivery of a series of supramax bulk carriers from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea.  Since then our fleet has continued to grow with further ships delivered from leading shipyards in Korea, Vietnam and Japan. Our management has substantial experience in ship owning, shipbuilding, ship finance and commercial and technical ship management. We have a prudent business philosophy based on long-term cooperation with major global shipping and logistics companies, commodity producers and end users. We are committed to building efficient, high-specification ships at first-class shipyards. Our ships are built to last and tailored to our customers’ requirements. Technical management is conducted in cooperation with Anglo Eastern (Group) Ltd., based in Glasgow, Scotland. Anglo Eastern is renowned for their high-quality customer base and diligent approach to ship management. We are based in the heart of London and a proud participant in the United Kingdom tonnage tax programme. The company supports the development of the UK maritime cluster by recruiting and training UK & EEC cadets, some of which have joined our ships as deck and engine officers. DAO is also a member of the Baltic Exchange.

Business Philosophy

We are investing in the best ships and our focus has been on new builds. We always consider using the best equipment both in terms of its performance as well as the environmental implications. Most importantly, we invest in the best people both onshore and originally at sea. We are a young company, although we already have several Officers in our fleet who joined us as Cadets. We are proud of our business and we thrive to be the best.

The Way Forward

Our Operation commenced in 2012 with a delivery of a series of supramax bulk carriers from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea. Since then, we have developed three other ships, all of which are on period charter to first class counterparties. These include a semi box type 56,000 dwt bulk carrier from Oshima (Japan), a pair of wide beam 84,000 dwt bulk carriers from Imabari (Japan) and a series of 61,000 dwt bulk carriers from Hyundai (Vietnam). Over the past number of years, the dry bulk market has experienced an unprecedented difficult period, with too many ships being delivered and sluggish demand. Despite this, we have managed to grow, delivering first class ships, with cutting-edge technology and the best makers list and quality. We always like to be ahead of the technological curve and shall endeavour to continue with this aim in the future. Our focus has been and always will be to provide the best ships and service to our counter parties. We are very proud of what we do and our main consideration is our reputation. Moving forward, we shall keep focusing on creating and adding value in the dry bulk market. We are committed to expanding with our existing charterers as well as looking forward to developing new relationships with like-minded, first class counter parties.
